Manufacturing Process - Do steel ingot nickel alloying
Description
For steel produced from recycled scrap using an electric arc furnace (EAF), the energy
onsumption is approximately 2.25 × 10⁹ J per metric ton (1,000 kg) of steel.
This equates to 2.25 × 10⁶ J per kilogram. Therefore, for 25 kg of steel, the energy
required would be:
25 kg * 2.25e6 J/kg = 56.25e6 = 56.25 MJ
This is trueif made from recycled scrap via an electric arc furnace, or about
612.5 MJ if produced from virgin iron ore using a basic oxygen furnace.
